I haven’t seen any p-1000 guys post about the newish BFG KM3 size (29/11-14 and 29/9-14) yet but I pulled the trigger after a bunch of research. I’m in southern AZ and wanted a tougher, larger, quieter than stock tire for my P1000-5 deluxe on stock wheels. Clearance is acceptable (second pic is full compression with no coil) without wheel spacers and the tires measure true 29” at 15psi. The stockers ran 27” @30psi. The weight was spot on and I can tell a slight loss in power and the Speedo is 2 mph off at 45mph and up. The ride is quiet and excellent as expected (getting old, I don’t love bogger noise anymore..) and the little off-roading I’ve done so far is great. Between the tires, dei heat kit, and alien top I can hold a conversation at 45-50mph. Even my wife was surprised. Wheel spacers would look better but I squeeze into some tight spots while hunting so everything is an acceptable compromise so far. They obviously won’t be a great mudder but excellent for everything else and moderate mud. Don’t hesitate if you have realistic expectations.
Thanks for all the info on this forum!

Hi there,
I thinking about the same tire, my wife hates the roar of the bighorns on the pavement. I’d be mounting on stock deluxe wheels, but staying with stock tire size as well. Do you have any regrets going to the taller tire? Also, is the road noise significantly reduced? I’ve also been contemplating AT tires and keeping the bighorns for hunting season. Any info/advice is greatly appreciated, thanks!

I'm looking at these with my tire guy, who usually doesn't sell UTV stuff. He comes up with an option in this size and the description says Light truck/suv tires. Are these the same?

I just got the KM3 in 28x10x14
the local dealer also had them listed as truck only and they offer a few larger sizes up to 32"
The tire itself, clearly says UTV/ATV only
So far I'm super happy with them, they look great and did well on the muddy road home.

Are you running 28/10-14 on all 4?

I started looking at these BFGs this morning.
I have a new 2021 1000-5 on order working on my mod list.

I actually already order and have setting out in my shop these black Fuel Anza Rims, and I received my rear Maxis Ceros 29/11R14s for it, only to find out this morning that my front 29/9R14 are still on back order and they are now being told February 2022 is the latest expected ETA for the front tires. The new 1000-5 has an ETA of late Sep.
Fuel Anza 14x7 for Honda 10005

So now I am looking for a plan B.

This BFG showed available in the sizes I wanted 29/9R14 for the front and 29/11R14 for the rear.

Which it has been my understanding that with an aftermarket 14x7 aftermarket Rim's which have a 5+2 offset that 29x9 tire is the max tire size without a lift and no rubbing.

Anyone have any thoughts or concerns with running this combo on a stock 1000-5?

It will rub when you hit ruts. Maybe on smooth trails and blacktop road it might not rub. The guy that started this thread has to be rubbing by looking at the pics.

Good to know, thanks.

I am seeing with these BFGs, that they offer them in a 28x9R14 and 28x11R14, if I drop drop down to the 28" will that resolve the rubbing issues?
Funny you mentioned that, on RMC wheel and tire builder it would not let me go up to a 29" only the 28" versions for the pioneer 1000-5, I now thinking that is likely why they cut it off at 28" .

You should be good with a tire that measures 28 inches or less.

Just mounted up a set of 29s with 1.5 offset arms, everything looks like it will clear. And measuring at max compression showed enough clearance. I'm heading north tomorow, ill update when I get home

My 28" blackwater evolutions that measured about 27.75" would rub with no lift or a-arms at full compression. Not much but they would rub.

For anyone whose wondering, no issues in the front, rear tires rubbed the roll cage twice all weekend (wasn't loaded down at all though) Going to space the wheels out 1 or 1.5 in and see how that does. Still really happy with the tires. much quieter on the pavement felt better on hard pack and didn't miss any traction on the trail.

I think those in 28" and factory widths will be the tires I go with when I wear out the Bighorns. I would assume they are DOT approved, anyone have an answer on that? Curious to see how they wear as well.

i've been runing the km3 on my talon and i have over 6K miles on them in AZ. I could get 7-7500 out of them but with my trip i had planned i replaced them. great tire. not dot stamped though. in AZ there is no law on the books stating tires need to be DOT.
id bet in a pioneer that has turf mode you could get a lot more miles fro them,.

Are you running that size on the stock le wheels and no spacers or lift?

I have been looking in to going up from stock 27's to 28's but was told that id have to still do the 28x9x14 and 28x11x14 or I would have issues. I am fully stock btw.

Did you do spacing yet? Just wanted to share that spacing made my rubbing worse, back before I put my 3.5" forward arms on.

It makes sense if you see it diagrammed, the outer edge of the tire turns more into the fender well at full steer.
