Nice solution. 👍 Not that it matters now but could you have used a ratchet strap to raise the tailgate up against the rear tires? Would that buy you enough clearance?

That’s a pretty good idea but doesn’t look like the tires there give and spare room to lift the gate even a little.

Only concern I would have with removing the tailgate and having the Pioneer tied in would be the weight ratings of the D rings in the bed of the truck. Probably be fine, but who knows?

That’s a pretty good idea but doesn’t look like the tires there give and spare room to lift the gate even a little.
What about using a set of front end drive ups to lift the front end enough to close the gate?

I've been hauling two 4-wheelers for years on my Diamondback cover. I was a bit concerned buying the 700-4 if it would fit and ride safely. I found a set of used extensions for a quarter of new price and loaded her up. Took her out last week with my 7000# bumper pull in tow and had a great weekend riding and fishing.
