She is barely fit! got about 1/2" left and right extra. Anyone done those "Riser" before? just need may be 15" extra front lift to be able to close the gate to tow my Travel Trailer without hit the Jack. Any better idea that is not going to break the bank? Thank you

I used a hitch extension with my truck camper and enclosed trailer. Worked great.

Is removing the tailgate an option? That’s the cheapest thing I can think of

Yes possible but just too close at the edge. kinda worry if it slip off
Like @Gator said you can tie it in such a way that it won't budge. I'd run straps from the rear of the sxs to the front of the truck box, so they are pulling it forward. And use heavy straps too.

One time I had to put two sxs's on my trailer and my 700 was kinda hanging off the back like yours is in the picture. I tied it down then added a couple more straps for peace of mind. When I was done, 4 straps would have had to break simultaneously in order for the rig to move. I was pretty comfortable with that.

Anyway, when you tie down just as yourself these questions- if this strap breaks, what would happen? In order for the sxs to fall out the back what would have to fail? Basically identify the weak links and beef them up. Using 4 to 6 straps you could get that thing tied down so good it wouldn't come off if you rolled the truck!

A couple of longer planks, I.E. 2x12's, that run the length under the front and rear tires. That would allow for tailgate removal. Or....

Smaller golf cart wheels and tires for transport and a cordless impact gun?

Come to think of it, my buddy hauls his 4 wheeler like that (tool box makes it hang out the back) and he has a net that attaches to the truck and goes across like a net tailgate. That might be what you need. I'll see if I can find a link

don't you lost like half of max load capability with that extension?
Yes you lose some for sure. Depending on which one you purchase.

You can change out the trailer jack to a swivel mount jack
if you have room between your tail gate and travel trailer
to make turns.

Good point! I avoid buying trailers that don't have the swivel jack. It all started when we were moving and some a-hole set my shiny tailgate on the jack handle and climbed in.

If you can secure it well like that, loose the tailgate. Towing problem solved.

Dodge / RAM - DG Manufacturing. Tailgate Support Bars

10” version should put your tailgate up high enough not to hit the trailer/jack.
