My wood stove is a newer epa certified (Yippy) stove and it doesn't like green wood at all. The only way i can burn green wood is if I start with dry get it really going and then add one piece in at a time. If I shut it down at all the glass turns black and my chimney starts building up. Which reminds me... I need to sweep it soon.
Mine are epa cert. also, do yours have the catalytic converters? They now have stove that don't and meet epa cert.

No mine does not have the catalytic converters. It has some sort of reburn system. Not sure how it works but it seems to do well
