I'm buying a few switches for lights and winch control. The switch mounting plates I'm finding for the 700-4 are primarily for the upper dash where the warning plate is installed. I am not looking to mount on the roof rail, or below the dash where my knees will bump the switches. Pretty much just leaves mounting the switch plate and switches on the upper dash. I have a few questions.

1. Short of when hosing out the interior after a good ride, do switches mounted where the warning plate is take a hit from water, mud, vibration or anything else on a normal ride or in weather? I have the Honda split windshield and the area appears safe for switch mounting.

2. Did you guys have any trouble mounting your switches on the upper dash in regard to the support frame under the caution plate? I will have 3-4 switches and a voltmeter(round).

3. What's the location of your switch plate on the 700.

4. Do you have a preferred location to hook up the voltmeter to so it only reads with the key on?

5. Anybody use the CrossRoads switch plate for the 700. How's the fit and finish? Will it hold a suction cup mount for a GPS on some of its unused space, I'm not interested in a Ram mount?

Thanks All!

I have a crossroad’s 3D switch plate.
it is textured, so a suction cup probably wouldn’t work.
See 1st pic for 3 locations where switches from the club store will clear the brackets behind the dash.
My voltmeter and all my accessories are powered from a fuse box that receives power directly from the battery through a stinger switched on by the key on wire.

Thanks Buckshot!

Do you have any trouble with the switches in that location? Also which panel below were you using? I suspect letter "I". I'm thinking "M" or "C" for two switches(for now) and a round voltmeter.
