Back again this year for another loop, the other way this time. About 550 miles into this ride so far. Beautiful weather. Some recent rain has smooth some trails and damaged other parts. The good, bad and ugly section is still all that. Might be snow in the mountains south of Kingman tonight and that’s where we are heading tomorrow. Did anybody from the group ride post make it last year?

The group ride scheduled for this last year got blitzed. People worried about the state of affairs with the country and others having some major surgeries. For some like me, it's just too damn far to get there and be able to ride the trail for 8 days. 2 days to get there, 2 days back and 8 days is too much for my schedule to allow right now.

Thanks for posting up! Looks amazing and I hope to get it done one day. I have my AZPT atlas and feel like my machine is set up for it now. Just need the time...

Greate pictures, thanks for posting. A couple of us will be riding the AZPT this March so any info you can provide would be appreciated. Are you using the GPX file off the AZPT website? How may miles a day are you riding? Any sections that took a lot longer than expected? Any side trips that are "must do" rides?

I’ll reply again when we get off the trail. One more day to go.

Did you use the GPX file from the AZPT website for navigation, if so, was it adequate?
No we created our own to fit our timeline. If it’s on the AZPT website it is probably as good as any. Just customize fo fit your plans. First we picked what we wanted to see or visit then planned around Gas, lodging and food. Short day about 80 miles, longest was 180ish miles.

Thanks for the info.

Wikieup to Kingsman shows an Average speed of 5.5 mph, was the due to technical trails, lots of sightseeing, or a combination of both?

Those were all just estimates in planning before we left. The heading says hours @15mph so it estimate 5,5 hours not mph. Roads and smooth areas you can go 50+ mph but there was a lot of rough area at 3mph also. Sightseeing, picture taking, stopping at the mine, gold fish pond, lunch, snow and other interesting areas takes time and reduces your avg. mph. I believe that section actually took about 8 or so hours.

I'm impressed. That looks like an excellent well-organized ride, great scenery and photography, good weather, and a trail I could have ridden with limited vision. Wish I had been there.

Great job by the organizer and leader.

Thanks, it all went smoothly and worry free because of a good plan. You have a lot of great riding opportunities in your area. We’ve been there quite a few times and enjoyed it.
