I'm thinking about getting an axle puller to deal with the sticky ones. I'm seeing these two styles:
OTC (7509) Inner CV Joint Puller , White Amazon.com
The SATV style grabs the CV from the outside with bolt pressure. That seems problematic to me in that you'd be trying to find the right bolt torque to grab it without damaging it. Wouldn't it want to drag off if not tight enough, or squeeze the metal in if too tight?
The first one looks better to me. Seems like it would be faster, easier, and less likely to damage anything. My main question would be if there's space to get it in there.

UTV/ATV CV Axle Puller
Get that stuck axle out of your diff pronto with our axle puller. It's got 8 bolt locations for a custom bite. The knurled slide hammer is easy to grip too.
