The battery in my 2016 700-4 is supposedly the original battery. It died and I need to buy a replacement. The number on the battery is YTX14-BS. My local AutoZone has an AZX14 and says it is the correct replacement. Does anyone know the difference between these two batteries, and whether it really is a direct replacement? Is it worth ordering a YTX14-BS online and waiting for it to be shipped?

There really just different names because of manufacturer, although some aftermarket batteries don't have the right terminals to fit Honda cables.

The only issue with shipping an oem battery is they probably won't fill it with acid and charge it beforehand. And without the correct charger, it might not last as long.

The OEM battery in your 700 is probably a Yuasa brand and it has lasted about 8 years now, which is pretty good for a powersport battery. I have used them for many years and usually get 6 or 7 years out of them.

Amazon sells them with "acid pack" or "activated". I have bought them both ways. You might give them a look.

Thanks all. I ended up with a Duralast Gold ETX14. Hooked it up and it fired up immediately as soon as i cranked it. She was turning over really slowly and wouldn't fire with the old one, it was definitely shot. Now it's back to thinking about tires.

Now would be a great time to upgrade to a larger capacity battery. You can put a ytx20-bs in the same location by using a Dremel tool to cut out a small plastic divider in bottom of battery tray. Gives you more cranking amps. Helps a lot if yours is cold natured when starting in cold weather..

Thanks for the information, I will keep that in mind for the future.
