Brake controller?

I need to add an electric brake controller to my truck in the next couple of weeks. I haven't had to pull the camper since I bought this truck but hunting season is here so now it has to put in some work. What controller would you all recommend for a 2018 Ram 1500?

Don't know how many bangs and whistles you want but this is a solid proportional controller with simple controls and basic features and works well.

I think this is the harness for your truck but double check!

There are others with more features that might suit you but I think that's a good starting point. I wouldn't get one that isn't proportional (aka time based) as I find those really annoying.

I always had great service with Tikonsha brand. Our 2016 RAM came with the trailer tow package which has an integrated controller. I think Tikonsha makes 2 or 3 different options.

Most likley you will need a harness for it cuz he typically has a ford.
I havent had to buy a brake controller in quite a while, my trucks since 15’ came factory with one integrated in the dash.
Never the less, wen I was with Roush Transportation, DrawTite was our controller of choice for all our car hauler trucks. They worked well with very minimal issues. Hope that helps.
