I had a soft enclosure made for me by Joe @ CEC Enclosures.

The rear panel is not fitting correctly and we (Joe and I) are wondering if Honda didn't change the location of the rear clamps on the OEM hard roof.

My machine is brand new and the OEM roof I ordered came right from the dealership just a few weeks ago. The clamps were pre-installed on the roof panel.

I loosened up the bolts (that go through the roof) for one of those two rear clamps, and the holes do NOT appear to be elongated in any way (to facilitate being able to move the clamp from side to side. The FRONT roof clamps can be adjusted fore and aft (the holes in the roof ARE elongated in that direction), but not the other clamps.

If anyone is near their 1000-5 with the Honda OEM roof and you have a tape measure handy, can you measure the distance between the two rear OEM roof clamps?

Thanks!

Thanks. I measured mine and, between the two clamps (inside to inside) I measured 41 3/16".

I’ve got about 40 7/8 inside to inside. Here are pics if they help. I had to cut the Cec enclosure for my reverse light.

Thanks, @toddvdh. With a little room for error, I'm 5/16 to 3/8 wider. Here's how mine fits. One side snaps but not both @ the same time due to the stress.

You could take the screws out of your roof and slot them a little to get them closer. If you look at the top of my roof pic there is a washer and it would be pretty easy to remove a little plastic and slide both clamps a little inward.

Joe is sending me a couple of "extensions" (short pieces of webbing with snaps). As long as they take the pressure off of the straps/snaps, I don't care if they come across the clamp - they won't unsnap. I'll be fine with that.

Sure, I could elongate the holes on the roof, but I'd likely need to elongate them more than an inch on both sides in order to make the straps fall where they should. We already agreed that, if the extensions don't work out, I'll send my rear panel back to him in the spring and he'll replace the horizontal flap - make it longer - and move the snaps further towards the outside.

After dropping $700 on a brand new enclosure, I'd rather handle it that way versus drilling or elongating holes in a new OEM roof.

Good. The real test will be during deer hunting in WI this weekend and next week!

I did do some door sealing also that should help. I have to get around to posting those pics though. I need to retire so I have more time on this site. Lol
