Anyone have some ideas for mounting your chainsaws?

I was going to make one myself but I'm starting to like the looks of this Kolpin. Good reviews and lots of mounting options on the P1000.

At first I thought something like this would be good. Just zip ties holding it but was going to build a rack.

Then I tried some Kolpin Ratcheting Rhino Grips

What I didnt like is the kolpin grip is mostly plastic and I could see the chainsaw breaking loose when I hit a bump. So I used some 1/8" wire rope on the roll bar which holds all of the weight of the saaw - the Rhinos just keep the saw from swinging. To unload the chainsaw, there is a quick release hook on the wire rope and press the button on the Rhino - then pull the saw sideways and out the back. The scabbard swings a bit for the saw to come out but stays in place until you slide the saw back in place.

Been on some bumpy rides and this setup works well. Easy to load and unload. You can use both rear passenger seats while the saw is in place and the bed dumps all the way too.
Here is the upper Rhino Grip attached to the rollbar and the quick release - you can also see the turnbuckle to adjust tension on the wire. The wire needs to support the weight of the saw.

Update - I tossed the turnbuckle and simplified the wire rope / quick release. Really happy with this.

Yeah the little 170 gets cleaned more than the pioneer, but is worth it's weight in gold when the trail is blocked ;)

With some recent conversation about an adventure in Coalmont, TN with @drfubar and @Delton it brings the topic of a good chainsaw mount front and center! I've though about it as something I would do sometime in the future, but now I'm thinking that perhaps I should be considering it sooner rather than later!

Has anyone tried a mount that just rocks? I'm leery about mounting anything off to the side or even that protrudes at all from the ROPS on the side.
