Coalmont .... is that a private park or govt land? Do they have cabins there? I assume it is mostly rocky hills and not a bunch of mud riding.

At this time, the date does not matter to me, it would be my first 'organized' ride.

It is going to be a park similar to royal blue soon. The city has purchased the land with a grant from the state. It will probably take another year or more before they become established.

There have been people riding there for years so now they’re just going to start making some money off of it.

There’s not really any hotels very close, probably have to drive 15 minutes to the closest. I don’t think there are any places to put a camper yet.

Can a STOCK machine (suspension, wheel, tires) make the trails, or are bigger/better needed?

A stock machine will be able to drive around most places. It will be a little bit bumpy and I would suggest 15 to 20 PSI if using stock tires. I would also highly suggest a skid plate. We had a stock 1000-5 go with us last time and he did good with the exception of one pinch flat.

I’ll go look up some videos that I took last time I was there. Of course my videos are only going to show the rougher spots worth turning on the camera.

I have a full skidplate, but performance wise all else is stock. Would 1-2" spacers have any bearing on allowing bigger than 28" tires?

You can get 28 inch tires to fit without any problem depending on what brand you get. You won’t be able to run roctanes without a left but Evos or Terrabites will fit.

Not sure if you are interested or not but I really like the set up that a lot of guys are running no lift with arched arms and smaller true size 30s like the brands listed above.

I heard some yahoo showed up with a stock p500 (towing it with his Acura SUV (Soccermom Utility Vehicle)). Only turned it upside down once. Stock is no problem.

I took a p 5 with 700 take offs there never had a problem except it beat me to death I got tired of it and got ride of it 5 days later. I pulled off side of the trail called dealer and bought a replacement right then. That place is great but no place for a 500 ( I towed mine with a Ford truck ) must have helped some.
