not necessarily bending, more like forming. it can be done by hand. it helps seal a little better. there are two screws on your dash you take out and put in new provided screws then put the cover over them and use a provided nut to secure.

The existing bolts are removed and the studs that are included are put in and tightened with double nuts that are included. Then the cover is placed in position and secured with the nut and washers supplied. You do not need to alter or remove the dash. Yes the cover needs to be curved
