I have metal fabrication skills and would like to build a rear bumper for my P1000-3. Just looking for ideas/pics on building a nice heavy-duty rear bumper. Thinking of adding some D-rings for strapping the machine down on the trailer.

So.. I’ll just throw this out there.

I have an EMP rear bumper that dumps with the bed... I like it.

You’re going to have to have a lot of extra weight in the bumper to make it sturdy enough to strap and pull from. Might I suggest these as pull points instead.

Here's how I added some tubing and gussets for my rear bumper. B5332d90f5a79ca4da094f1fe6a8a25e55a0022429b011cbab4708faa6577f4fD78b8995cb78a617305b4fcf6ba52227

I’ll have to put some thought into it. I think that a combination of strength/rigidity can be balanced with not being overly gaudy. These types of projects can be exciting.

IMO a winner rear bumper would:

1. Allow the bed to tilt and the tailgate to lower.
2. Cut outs for flush mount lights
3. D-ring mounting points
4. 2" receiver up high on the bumper because the stock receiver point is way too low. I'm thinking for accessories, not towing. Stock location bottoms out on trails.
5. Maybe a way to mount a vertical ROPS sized bar on the passenger side to mount swing out racks for 3P Pioneers
6. Fits both 3P and 5P Pioneers

I started this one with factory front bumper not done yet to many other things going on like @JTW I was going to make it dump with bed not strong enough for d rings I just put one in receiver 94e0041ebc405bd1e8a96efec611478996956ffd207f0733fa912bc7973f8a12

I built this with the main bar sleeved so you could pull on any part of the bumper. It did not obstruct the ability to dump either. I really liked it and want to build one for my new machine. F68500b8ad52a3d481b1536f52c263909252d4e0dd0430bf0be794f6c2e2d88598f338143441eef8da4bbc50ef7f6ef9

Hey that’s a good idea utilizing the stock front bumper. I’ve got one laying around that I could never get rid of. Guess I can repurpose it.
