Hey that’s a good idea utilizing the stock front bumper. I’ve got one laying around that I could never get rid of. Guess I can repurpose it.
That was my thought

Heres 3 that ive made. First one was out of 2" channel (very easy build). Would be easy to tie into stock receiver to strengthen then add receiver to bumper. Bed and tailgate still very functional.

Next was my personal favorite. Off a squarebody S10. Took 4" out of center to avoid overhang at the ends. Again easy enough to strengthen enough for receiver or rear winch. Winch in pic was just mockup. Bed would not tilt with this. Took maybe 2 mins to remove though.

And lastly my tube bumper. Bed still tilted and tailgate lowered 90%.

All these used mount similar to EMP (rear rops factory mounts). But mine are alot stronger. 2" receiver welded to 1/4" flat that bolts between rear rops and frame mount.

Considering tying rear cage into a rear bumper for next project. All depends on if i go "bedless" next year or not.

My bed wouldnt tilt with stepbumper i made for mine. With this mount i could have bumper removed in under 30secs using an impact. I tacked nuts on to speed things up.

I might borrow that idea but maybe try some tractor pins to make removable on fly
I thought of that too but afraid it would rattle. With that setup, you can mount any bumper ever made by simply welding some 1.5" square tubing to it. Holler if i can help in any way.
