Question To Some one that may know. Desert racing a Talon. Because of the PCV system it broke a JE Piston and that went through the head. Parts on back order so I am putting a stock motor set up off parts I have around in hopes to make my last race. Stock In take valve calls for .016 +_3. My BC off market called for .006 to .008. I have enough pucks to get the stock set up with stock head springs. never apart about 3500 miles? .016 seems like a lot to me for a solid over head cam. I can get it to the 6 to 8 range. One being at .006 Would the valves floot. Which will hit.
If I run the thing with the intake valves tight by what they say. What could I do to try and get the thing to not hurt it self.

Just to the right of nowhere
Ownership

  1. Do not currently own
Stock valve clearance is .006" Intake and .009" Exhaust (measure on the cam lobe side, not the rocker tip for Exhaust)
Exhaust measure at the tip is .012"

I think your seeing the Metric measurement of .16mm which is equal to approx 6 thousandths of an INCH? (Or .006")
