Exhaust wrap, is it worth it?

Am I remembering wrong or not...but seem to recall numerous posts somewhere about the exhaust pipe cracking after being wrapped...holding too much heat in the steel...

Am I wrong?

Open to all other ideas for seat heat.

I did buy a clearance workout mat....like 3/8" thick rubber....from a sporting goods store and cut liners for under both sides of the front seat.

Seemed to help a bunch, but the areas around the seat belt buckle still pump a ton of heat.

Need all the ideas possible for riding in TX heat here in a few weeks.

THanks!!

After insulating under the seat and extensive insulation under all the plastic panels, I don't have the desire to do a fan or exhaust wrap.

You guys should check it out, it's easier than wrapping the exhaust.

When you say ...all the plastic panels... Is it just the seat belt panel?

The seat belt panel helped the most but I also did the rear passenger floor and the vertical panel right behind your calf.

After all that, I added Bayouownbeer's shield under the seat. All together, it seems to help a ton.

I ain't far behind you. Got it stripped down as we speak. Plastic panel is already done just waiting on the big sheet so I can make a cover to go over the engine. Also got header wrap coming tomorrow. Still debating using it or not.

Bayou's shield came in saturday so it's going on as well. I was tempted to snag one of the exhaust manifold shields that go on the 2.5 engine from work, but it ain't worth unemployment lol
