I know the discussion on Fox Shocks has been in-depth already but I can’t find much on what I’m looking at. I’m looking to pull the trigger on a Fox shocks for my 1000-5 and Im trying to see what shocks everyone bought. Looking at Ron Ayer’s I’m finding a couple of different options. 08Z70-HL4-F00 & 087Z1-HL4-F00 are from the accessories section and 51400-HL4-AG1ZA & 52400-HL4-LG1ZA are OEM part numbers for 2020/2021 LE 1000-5. I know the OEM will have silver springs. Besides that is there anything different? Spring color doesn’t matter much to me as I might need to change spring to eliminate sag anyways. OEMs are slightly cheaper too. Any thought?

I was told that on both sets. Not sure on prior orders. I decided to order the OEM ones. Figured even if I have to wait at least I’m in line.
Per the most recent update from Ron Ayers, Fox has told Honda (corporate, not just a dealership) that they will have ALL backorders filled by May 15.

We shall see.

EDIT: The ones I ordered last fall were the top part numbers (red). They actually have my rears sitting in a box on the shelf with my name on them, waiting for the fronts. They've been collecting dust @ Ayers for ~6 months now.

Well, today the official "f*ck you" arrived from Ron Ayers today:

Hi every one
I know Fox was telling Honda May 15 but here we are on the 17th and I do
not have the news I was hopping to pass to you. Honda has at long last put
a ESD on the backorder listing its 6/15/2022. Called and talked to a rep
at Honda to see how strong to believe it this time. Honda is showing them
as in bound with all backorder to be shipped to the dealers by 6/23. We
are very sorry this backorder is dragging on we will get them out to you
as soon as we can get them.

I gotta wonder why I was able to order 2 pair of Fox Front Shocks for a 1000-P3 from my dealer ??

Think that was around the end of March. Only took a week.

Then I contacted Fox and was able to purchase longer mounting eyelets so I could mount one pair on the rear of my 700. Think that only took 10 days to get them from Fox.

If I remember correctly, I talked to Fox in California, and the parts were shipped from the SE, maybe Georgia ??

Several months into my backorder wait, I recall Ron Ayers advising me that there was a dealer in California who had some in stock. However, the price was significantly higher than what I paid.

How much did the two pair of front shocks and the longer mounting eyelets costs you (total OTD)?

$680 per pair on the shocks. (Think my dealer said they retail for around $850 now days) Dealer gives a discount on all parts if you purchased the machine from them.

$130 for the eyelets from Fox.

Those larger 2” shock bodies with 2 1/2” springs made a completely different machine out of my 700.

The valving for the 1000-P3 shocks isn’t noticeable. I don’t know how you could tell the difference without a gauge of some sort.

NOT SORRY !!

Today I cancelled the order for my "backordered" 1000-5 qs3 fox shocks for the front. I ordered some for a 1000-3 from Ron Ayers. They were showing 10+ pairs in stock. I'm not sure about the rear shocks. These are the same price I paid for the ones on backorder and they said I should have them at my house next week

That my friend is very smart never thought about that. What did you order 18 LE.
No. I ordered the aftermarket QS3 shocks with the red springs for the 1000-3. Far as I know the only difference is spring rate. I was told all of the OEM fox shocks are on back order

Either way doesn't matter since I'm changing them out
Those P3 Fox shocks I purchased have 225 lb springs. Ya might give them a try before switching the springs. Unless you are looking at a specific color.
