Hello, I'm mx1alex

Whelp... It's time to finally say goodbye to My Ranger. Just picked up a p1k5. Did a lot of research on what I wanted to do on a new sxs and landed on the Pioneer. I really liked my Ranger but it was time to get something that could hold my wife and two kids comfortably.

I didn't want to get something as big as a ranger crew, I for sure wanted a bench seat so I can get in and out on either side, and needed to carry 4 people. That obviously narrows down the options pretty quick to basically just the P1k5 and the Mule ProFXt. The Mule is a nice, well built machine but IMO leans too much on the utility side and not enough on the sport side as I would care for. The only thing I don't like about the P1k5 is the lack of any bed space when rear seats are up and lack of storage in the cab area. Will have to get creative with what and how we haul stuff when trail riding.

Most of my use for the P1k5 will be from working/hunting on my land here in MO. But we like to go out and ride in Colorado quite a bit as well. Put a lot of miles seeing some cool stuff on this old girl. I'm gonna miss her.

Welcome from the Great Lakes State!
Do u have the Honda under dash storage? There’s a lot of room for things when you have that.

Welcome to the forum. The Ranger is great, but you’ll forget about it soon enough with your Pioneer 1000, especially if you’re getting a new one that has corrected the problems in earlier models. Be sure to get EPS. As for bed space, you can get a pricy bed extension or just strap stuff on with the tailgate down. There’s an available storage shelf that installs below the dash for additional cab storage.

Well I finally have my Pioneer here. Definitely not as smooth a ride as my 800 ranger, kinda disappointed in that. And gonna take some getting used to the transmission. Also having doors is new to me as well. I'm used to just jumping in and out to check trail cams and stuff. Does anyone remove the doors from their P1k5?

I’ve never seen that done but it’s certainly easy enough to do. Go for it, I’d like to see what it looks like.

I have seen some folks remove them. What about tire air pressure? You might could lower it a little depending on application.

Welcome to the club and great choice by the way. I think you’ll find the quality of the Honda will surpass what you were used to with the polaris.
