I have the Montana 650T but use the onXmap on the micro SD card. It not only show trails and forest roads it show private property and the owners name, BLM land, State Land and Forest Land. The SD cards are a hundred bucks a pop per state but worth every penny. This way you can switch which map you want to use just by enabling it on map settings.Any one know of a unit (preferably hand held) that would have topo maps and trails and forest roads?

They sure do, Just Google huntinggpsmaps.com or onXmaps and choose your state. You can order from them but most major Sporting Good stores have them in stock.Sounds great. Do they have a map for Arkansas?

I thought the 1300 will accept a data card and if so all you need to do is insert the SC card and go to map settings and enable the new map I think the OnXmap card uses about 1.25 GB so if you upload the maps vis the USB cable you will need at least that much free space.I have a Garman Nuvi 1300 that is about 5 years old but still works well. I think I can order a cord that will allow me to upload the map off of the SD card. This would be great to mount on the dash where the warning label is mounted and plug into the cig lighter plug.
Unless I am missing something there is no SD card plug in. There is one port that is similar in size to a USB but is not a USB. I think they may make a corded adapter that would take an SD card .I thought the 1300 will accept a data card and if so all you need to do is insert the SC card and go to map settings and enable the new map I think the OnXmap card uses about 1.25 GB so if you upload the maps vis the USB cable you will need at least that much free space.[/QUOT
The Micro SD card slot should be on the left side of the Nuvi. It's small but the Micro SD card is very small.i

One time purchase but I suggest you register your map with them and they will send you an email when updates become available. You do not have to get the updates if you don't want to but I would suggest it. I always get the updates and the cost is only $30.Found it. Is there a monthly or annual fee that you pay for the Onx maps?

If you have an android phone check out backcountry navigator. I use it all the time in Arkansas. There is a Forrest service map layer that had their roads. I've been surprised at how many small pig trails are on that map. And it's freeSounds great. Do they have a map for Arkansas?
