Considering the cost of your backyard spray job compared to buying all the panels a small nick or gouge is a minor issue.

Have you tried spot respraying the small imperfections with the original product?

Yes, that's my plan just haven't gotten around to it yet. I have one liter and pigment left over from the kit. They do make various colors in spray can form as well which would be ideal for touchups.
