Hello, I'm dlrflyer

Hello all, I’m Dave from central Illinois. As I’m nearing retirement, I’m planning to move west and take in as many trail systems as I can. I’m interested in P5 to fit on 50” trails. No interest in ATV’s anymore after an accident in which I was extremely lucky. I hope to pick the brains of the members here to avoid the many pitfalls when choosing and equipping a machine.

Here is a little info about me to begin with!
Honda SxS ownership : No, but I am looking to buy
I have owned, or currently own the following: ATV
My off-road experience level is: Novice
My favorite place to ride is: Only been to a few local lands.

If you are doing 50" trails then the P5 @dlrflyer P5 is a good choice. Keep in mind the ride may not be a plush as you like and the machine is not fast but I have never seen a 50" trail that you can go fast and not going fast lessen's the roughness of the ride. The P5 can be a bit tippy so just keep that in mind on side hills. i have not turned mine over yet, but there are a couple of time I thought it should have, In addition you will be going slow so if you are buckled in you shouldn't get injured. After you purchase there lots of stuff you will want so just make rocky Mountain ATV your friend and you will be on a first name basis with the UPS driver. First thing you may want to do is ditch the factory tires but it not critical, some member wear out those before buy replacement tires.

Welcome. Retired and very happy with P500 coming up on 3 yrs. Ride mostly 50 inch trails which limit speed below 15 mph. It may not be the smoothest SxS, but its great for chores and recreation. Power steering one of the best mods, then larger tires.
