Hello folks! New purchaser of a Honda Talon 1000X, which we hope to take delivery of in about a week. The wife and I (both retired) have logged lots of trail miles on our Yamaha Grizzly 700's, but this is our first toe-dip into the world of side-by-sides. We're looking forward to the adventure and appreciate the opportunity to exchange info/ideas with you on this forum.

We've ridden ATV's in the Taylor Park area several times and love it. Also the loop from Crested Butte up Slate River, over Paradise Divide and down through Gothic. Devil's Punchbowl down to Crystal Mill is excellent too. Hope to get the new Talon out that way this year.

Hello neighbor! I bought it from Shawnee Honda. I've bought a couple of motorcycles from them in the past. There are scant few Talons available in the OKC area, and when they hit the dealership they're gone within a couple of days. I spoke with them last week and asked them to give me a call when they got a new shipment in. Lo and behold, they called Tuesday saying they got two each of the X's and R's. Took the wife in to test ride yesterday and we signed the papers on a new red Talon X yesterday. They've ordered several accessories for me (along with installing a few they had in stock) and I hope to have it complete by the end of next week.

BTW - I live about 3-4 miles east of Tinker AFB, so Shawnee isn't really that far away for me.

Good luck with the Talon. You probably won't need any, since it's a Honda. Where do you usually ride around the OKC area?

We usually head down to Lake Murray or Davis. But, truthfully, it's the trips west to New Mexico and Colorado that keep me interested.
