I have a Raging Bull .454...I really want to shoot a bear with it. I've killed bears with a compound bow, crossbow, and 2 with a rifle. Mounts start to get expensive.

I have 3 deer kills with mine. 105, 89, and 75 yards. All one shot and drop. Took a lot of practice in the beginning but once you know where it hits and what it likes, it becomes possible to reach out with that round.

As in all firearms, spend the money and buy quality the first time. Kimber makes an excellent 1911, as does Sig and a few others. Just stay away from the cheap s***. There may come a time where your life depends on the proper function of that gun.

Above is a Kimber Ultra CDPLG. One of the sweetest shooting semi-autos available.

Nice ! My local store has around 300+ different models of 1911's. Gun World Corydon IN. I didn't see any Kimbers in the 1911 model that I recall. I'll look again. I'm looking at Smith & wesson E series,Springfield Armory,Ruger and Remington in that order. All in stainless steel. Beautiful guns, almost art.

Kimber, Colt, Sig, SA, and Para are my favorite mfg's for 1911 frame. Kimber and Colt are the ones I would trust my life to in a fire fight.

Those manufacturers make pretty good stuff, but for mainstream quality (without spending stupid money) Kimber, Sig Sauer, & Colt would be my choice.
Kimber is a high end long arm manufacturer that decided sometime back to build 1911’s. They have dozens of different models depending on exactly what you want. My Ultra CDP is from their custom shop, and it is SSOOOO damn smooth it is amazing. I own several Sigs also, and swear by them. These two brands are by no means the cheapest, but again, when it comes to personal protection, I want the best.

One reason the 1911 is so appealing to me is the history of it so I'd really like a Colt but there are a lot of nice choices.

I agree, and there are a lot of choices around the $700-$1200 mark as well as the $3K range giving buying a wide range of factory to custom 1911's

I'm after a well made pretty one. I've just been looking online for now can't go to the store until I'm ready to spend some money because when I go I will come home with one. They also have Dan Wesson 1911's at good prices if a person wants to spend the cash. That's why I posted here though,I wanted to hear you guys opinions on the 1911.

As some of you may have seen earlier, I did some cleaning up at the range and then took my JP out for some training. This JP GMR-15 with a 6 MOA C-More red dot is a blast in PCC competition....

And I’m guessing your joking right?
1. Buy
2. Do historical research
3. Toss them all in the Bog for safe keeping away from the fascist republicans and Hitler/Trump Nazi regime.
4. Dig them up 1-200 years from now as archaeological remains
5. Wash and Repeat
