Hmm....I'll have to remember that one...So put my 700 to work doing what I told the wife I needed it for , garbage cans on the road.

I guess I’m NorthWest stupid but what’s a Chigger
Sounds pretty derogative, careful who you go calling that

I have a .357 revolver but never shot rat shot at them. However I shot a couple of snakes in the creek with the hollow points I keep in it. After you shoot them with those they don't move a bit.
Don’t get your panties in a bunch, I said that meaning there’s some different words and different things that we don’t have over here and vice versa.Sounds pretty derogative, careful who you go calling that

Call me the same, we don’t have to worry about bugs around these parts, just large animals. They won’t leave you itchy, just dead

When you head out to work in the dark and there’s a mama moose that you need to sidestep in your yard it’s a little different.I had a cougar in my back yard about 7-8 years ago, tore up the noise of my black lab pretty good, and I’m not talking about a female past her prime, that fallows you home from the bar

Talon is wicked cool but I think for his travels with Bayleaf a 700 or 1000 is more suited for the task of long trips into the brush. He’s got that 500 pretty well stuffed especially in the driver seat lol. I would’ve suggested even the Wolverine because of the ride and huge driver room but I think he needs more space for goods.A 500 out west is more useful than a Talon/1000 back east unless it's a farm tool (which I think you already have with a Kubota?)...but you wouldn't be looking at a Talon for that. Wait for the land.
If you must buy a machine...A base model p1k (with ps and paddles) seems like it makes more sense for the budget. Why pay for the LE? The shocks are nice, but the worst riding p1k will be like a nuclear powered laz-e-boy compared to a 500.
Or...don't forget there is a middle pioneer. A 2 seat 700 gives you the room (if you fit in the cab), most of the improved ride, and no more power, but cost just a tad more than a 500. Buy the land and a 700.
Just some thoughts...

There are no 50” restrictions here he’d be fine with larger rig. Stability would be nice to see him with, I get nervous when he’s out alone because he’s not afraid of putting it on it’s side.
It does. Almost has....i dunno...1/2 of what a 700/1000 would hold?It does have more storage room now

He’s headed to the Takeover. there are a lot of good people there with various rides, maybe some would offer up a seat? The X would be fun so theirs that, plus you already brought it up so it was in the running. Once purchased whatever you chose will be yours without losing on a trade out of situation. Any chance of trying each and knowing before hand would be great
That’d be cool. I finally got to see one of each going through Hattiesburg. Their is a little room in back, not like the pioneer but some. Sure gives me the fever but my pioneer is handling my needs as of now. My oldest already has taken the rincon for her own but the little one is still with me so we play the waiting game. He’s headed to the Takeover. there are a lot of good people there with various rides, maybe some would offer up a seat?
That 1st Gen wolverine suggestion was spot on. I can't think of another utv I've sit in that has as much cockpit room. He’s headed to the Takeover. there are a lot of good people there with various rides, maybe some would offer up a seat?
Finally arrived here locally. That dealer doesn’t have a test track so I won’t even waist time rolling up there. Would definitely not plunk down that much without a good feeling. We are planning to go on one maybe first of the year if it looks like any bugs are shaken out. That’d be cool. I finally got to see one of each going through Hattiesburg.
