Add your cross bracing between the 1st and 2nd.. about where the coolant lines turn up. Smaller spaces mean less chance of skid flex getting to the important stuff!

Okay... two things;

1.) I am an idiot. I put in 50 some jack nuts in the bed of my 1K by hand.. why the hell didn't I buy one of those installers??? Holy s***. That was a major pain in the azz!

2.) @JTW and @joeymt33, I'm asking this because I haven't rolled underneath my machine to look for myself.. but are there no boss's under there to mount skid plates? I would imagine mine has some in the middle, since it has the LE skid down the center, but what about the side pieces I need to put on? Do most people put them on with self tapping sheet metal type screws? If so, then I'm gonna need to invest in one of those dam things too.

So who can show me how you built the additional cross member? Anyone write down dimensions? Weld in or bolt in?

I may have some more. This shows pieces added to reinforce the OEM crossmembers. I did add another one by the sub transmission.

Man I’m barely living. Been putting a ton of miles in this weekend. Between that and the beer...
We did plenty of bushwhacking. One trail really stood out it was sever side angle and we all struggled a little,scary sometimes bouncing down I big hill not knowing if there’s a way out but we made one.

I'm sitting by the fire, CPs out on a night ride. Lord help us!
Don’t think I’ll be riding with the Polaris group much anymore. They just like speed and nothing technical. It was ridiculous trying to get them around, we stayed on the easy blue trail and it took nearly twice the time it did for us. Next time I’ll let Sammy drive and I’ll nap.
Did do this last night sliding a bit into a corner pretty hard. First tie rod in years. Wasn’t bad it drove home

Do I need to install a cross member before installing my UHMW skids? Where does one find crossmembers?

I’m not real sure how to answer that. I went a couple years without doing this and there are many people that have not done it. There’s always a chance that you will hit a rock in the right spot just hard enough and cause problems. It’s up to you whether not you want to attempt to prevent that from happening.

I say “attempt” because I have still bent the middle section up even after adding these four bars. It has not caused a problem yet and I have pulled them back down.
