I cracked 2 cups in my time. One in high school and one after. You usually don’t feel it right away and it sucks. I’ve had 2 concussions and I don’t remember how many mild ones I’ve had? All foul balls to the mask and neck. Some I’m sure I never noticed. 2 broken thumbs and I have varicose Veins on the inside of feet from foul balls (your guards don’t cover them) It’s a dedication. You dedicate yourself to the position or you won’t succeed. As Mr Jim Price says the tools of intelligence lol. When my wife met me while I was still playing she called it the tools of ignorance lol. There was probably some truth to that.

One of the Braves guys got caught with a 3rd strike backswing last year that knocked him to his hands and knees. Lame part was Guy looked back and just walked off...and it was the other teams catcher! Didn't even check on him.

I’ve now beaten my last years record of seven beers. I think I’ve now had 8 or 9 so far this yar. . . .its that dang Apocalypse IPA @popeye turned me on to last year at the Mt Rainier ride. Hooked be I.

Yeah it does happen. I’ve been hit with a backswing a few times. Only when it hit the top of my shoulder/collarbone it was painful. I used a traditional style mask and the helmet is solid. The hockey style isn’t quite as solid imo. I tried it and couldn’t stand it. The batter probably didn’t know he hit him and probably just thought it was a cross up that knocked him to his knees. Unfortunately it’s quite common for batters to just walk off like that.

Planning the ride for tomorrow with a glass of sweet tea bourbon and lemonade. Rode 103 miles in the new machine yesterday. Much better trip than a few weeks ago. Yesterday was the Dead Horse Run, tomorrow will be Sawyer county ATV trails

Wife and daughter are in the woods and I’m stuck in town giving a donation of plasma lol.
