Lol @Bcavin351 upgrades….

Was a good day, didn’t need a cutoff wheel or a welder. Passenger knuckle was trash, balljoint just flops around and the bearings were obliterated. Threads on the ball joints were toast too

Been a rough week here, and it's not over.

A/C went out Tuesday morning. Highs are still over 100 degrees here and will be in the 110-112 range for the next few days.

Thanks to sound financial decisions, Im still paying rent at 50. Property is managed by a s*** organization called MYND property management. Filled out the "issues" form at like 6am Tuesday. Nothing by 10am. I realized they have a "critical issue" 800 number, and called it. Guy...the only one this far that actually speaks English...said he would forward it to maintainence ASAP. No A/C in an AZ summer IS a critical issue, even by MYND's own website.
By 3, still no word, so i called again. This time he said he would "tag" certain persons to make sure actions were taken. About an hour later, a "contractor" was finally assigned, and the appointment was made for 9-12 the next day.

He climbed on the roof for around 45 minutes and then reported that he had found a leak (I had told them unit was short-cycling) and the compressor was gone. He said this was an older unit that parts would be $$$ for and hard to come by, so recommendation was for unit replacement, so he would type up both and send them to MYND. Later in the day, they messaged me and said they were waiting on "owner approval" for the repair.

To my surprise, I got a message the next day saying ANOTHER contractor has been assigned. Now...I understand wanting more than one quote...but is there any reason you couldn't have gotten 2 or 3 people out on the same day for such an urgent issue? But wait...there's more...

I called the 2nd company (since MYND tend to move like old people f***) to speed up the process. They don't service this area, and had just informed MYND of this. WHAT? Someone contracted a company that can't even come out? How stupid are these people? Even more stupid, as it turns out...

Later in the day, another (3rd) contractor was assigned. I googled the name, and couldn't find a phone number. Just an address. After looking at the address,.it appears to be a private residence. Keep in mind that I have a roof unit that will probably need a crane or something of the like to replace, and some guy working out of his garage can't do that...or at least without adding more party's (and time) to the deal.

I had been calling the 800 number all along during this 1-2 times a day trying to get them to understand the urgency of this. I called again asking for the number of the new contractor. The thickly accented lady who answered the phone told me that they only communicate with the contractors by email and she didn't have a phone number, but would send to me later. I was already getting pretty bent over this whole thing, and at that point, I went off on her. I ask her what the temp was in her posh office in Santa Barbara (or wherever) was?. Is it 74 degrees? Cause my house is 94 degrees RIGHT NOW while you clowns bulls*** around, and tomorrow is supposed to be 10 degrees warmer! She took it like a champ and was completely unmoved, like all the rest of them. Later in the day, I finally got a call from contractor #3. Set the appointment for the next morning. That's a full day wasted by MYND. I forgot to ask the new contractor the important question...

Next morning (another day going I ln late to work), I get a text from the guy, and after putting in my address, he realized that he doesn't serve this area, and he apologized. That's 2 in a row...assigned, but can't actually do anything. Later in the day, MYND messaged me saying that they working with the owner to find his preferred "local contractor", but nothing else that day.

That's 2 full days wasted because of stupidity or incompetence at MYND.

At this point, I had little hope of hearing anything else before Monday, so was surprised to get a message yesterday. Another contractor. Just as far away as the other 2, but he does service the area. He'll be out Monday...right in the middle of the day, so I could potentially have to miss another day of work, depending on his timing.
He's doing another estimate, and even if he gets the nod, I'll still be in for at least another 1/2 of work missed. That's if they don't want another (3rd) estimate. I'll be lucky to have A/C by the end of the week, with temps in the 112 degree range all week.

During all this, MYND said they would reimburse me for up 2 $350 for a portable A/C unit, which I got. $350 gets you a 6000 btu unit capable of cooling my closet. I also borrowed another from my boss, and they have both been running 24/7, but even keeping one room comfortable in this heat is a big ask.

The other thing is this: my co worker just had a house fire a few weeks ago while he wasn't home. It killed all 3 of his dogs. When I run these things, they draw enough amperage to make the outlet get warm to the touch (they are on separate breakers/lines), esp the larger one I borrowed. I am very hesitant to leave these things unattended, but appears that's exactly what I'm gonna have to do starting tomorrow. So I guess I get to hope the dogs don't die of fire while trying to keep them from dying of heat stroke.

I can't wait until MYND sends me that survey on how they handled the complaint. What a bunch of clowns...

That's a bad idea :). Been there, done that. They will hold water and beat against the cage. Which in turn will kill the LED's and rub the powder coat off the cage.

Thx. They are pretty inexpensive, so if/when the water gets them, I'll do something different. I'm too lazy to R&R them and re-run all the damn wiring. 😄

I do have them secured @ the bottom end so they won't be beating the cage (a Zip tie concoction that keeps them immobile and off the cage itself).
