I know this won’t peak every ones interest, but can you imagine loading up some buddy’s, a huge cooler and going anywhere at Xmas hills mid January @CumminsPusher @Plumber32 @Tigermark

Lol, yea I already have a Tucker snowcat, that needs a lot of work. Maybe one day when I’ve figured out how to become independently wealthy and don’t have to work to much I’ll find time to finish it

Do you have all of the parts bought yet? I'll come help ya put it together.

WB

I’m sure I’ll need something, but I have most of the large items, need to pull the Detroit 4/71 out, send the Alison out to have the shift points changed, then shoehorn in the b series 5.9 Cummins. it mount the new 16k winch, reseal the hydraulic steering cylinder, replace a few lines. Mount some lights, wire in a b****ing stereo. I’m sure there is more I’m forgetting. You welcome to come up and help

Is there not enough length for the 6bt?
You could always run the 6.0 P.S. lol

With all the Cummins swaps out there I figured could possibly find one cheap that might still run:)

Yea don’t know if it would have the power, I know you can hop them up to get more out of them, but then do you loose the reliability that they are known for?..... gotta think when and where you could go with it, if something major happened you can’t just call in a tow truck. With the wrong conditions it could become deadly. But the lesser weight of the smaller engine would be nice too

With p7100 pump 130hp intercooled And there have been marine units rated in the range of 250HP!
But I get the reliability thing you do too much to him and then they're just not as reliable

Your probably on to something, the more i think about it, not sure that a Detroit 4/71 makes much more stock, than 3.9 could
But I already have the 5.9 that came out of a frieghtliner with the right bell housing and the gear driven air compressor will be a handy feature

My sons 4bt in the F-150 is well over 300hp now. Runs hard. That motor would have 50% more stress placed on it though.

Here's something I found on the search" I've been told the rule of thumb on inline 71s is 35 HP and 100 FP torque per hole, that would be 140 HP and 400 FP. My book only lists 6-71s and 6V-71s, the 6-71s range from 201/552 to 260/751. I would think the 4-71s would come in several different ratings also. "

I would agree with that as far as the stress but they do it on the 5. 9 all the time and people run the hell out of them with double in the horsepower that's. Sweet hp one you sons that in the ball park I want to get out of mine is it inline pump

140 sounds about right, it’s been a while but I looked it up by running the numbers when I got it. I wish that 2 stroke wasn’t so damn loud, I would leave it alone... funny story I cut the muffler off when I first got it and drove it around my back yard, my neighbor called me saying he could hear it in his house over his tv over 1/4 mike away

That's funny I had a dump truck guy that had Detroit in it. he wore ear plugs to drive it. He was delivering gravel to my house and I heard him around the corner and I thought that was a fast trip I looked at my watch 8 minutes later I realized where I heard him turn the corner at and it was a lot further than just a mile I thought he was it was 6 miles east of me
