Somewhat. I’ll do an oranger red later but wanted something to break up the red. I’m a big fan of two-tone older trucks. Now it’s needing wheels and tint something fierce.

First problem on the xterra in the 12 years we owned it! Had to put front brakes on it. Lol. We’ve beat this thing hard and it just keeps going. Something to be said about Jap cars.

This project makes me want an old powerwagon more and more!
Ya I love those too. Getting impossible to find clean without being brutal in price though. It would have to be a diesel swap, I couldn’t go back to this old carb engines!

But for what a new truck costs anymore, building an older diesel is a decent option. 2001 and Dad bought his dodge for 28-30k I think... it’s twice that now. You could do a pretty good project for 50k!

Ya very true. We had a Ford in the other day with a 100k sticker. That’s f***ing insanity to me, especially the guys that just drive it to work.
I’ll be under 4K in this done and it’ll have the same power, better mileage and dependability then that $100k truck. Probably better resale in 15 years too. Of course this one is missing some goodies inside and 4wd but I might get another before next winter.

If I ever get one I’d want 12 grand sitting in my account in addition to the pickup shell. Everything bumper to bumper would be new and exactly what I wanted. I wouldn’t mess around. Someday
