Long day today. Started at 10 to get the “new” hood on my truck and quickly realized it was going to take major modifications on the underside because of the massive radiator the diesels have. So cut spliced and rewelded some under structure then had to go back to the wrecking yard for windshield cowl because the body lines different.
Got fitment good after shimming grill and fenders up because the core support is different but 74 hood “fits” a 93!

3 hours of bodywork to the 74 hood and ready for primer. Was hauling ass! That’s a lot of filler!

Ya a lot of people swapped to the new back in the day. Would be A LOT easier. People didn’t like having the BB (birdbath) hood because it held water. I like it better. Plus it reminds me of looking out the windshield of all my Dads trucks as a kid.

Y

Yea buddy! back a few years ago we had a bad ice storm and had no power for six days, when the power came back on I was still caring a flash light to find my work clothes in the closet, HA!
When we figured out the power wasn't going to be back the first day , we went to town to get gas for the generator, it was like something you would see in a movie, people freaking out every where, looked at the wife and said were going home. Got back to the home, drained mowers, tractors, tiller of gas, went back two days later and got gas. 911 was the same way! City people are crazy/stupid round these parts!
