Thinking specifically the bed rails.. the mod I did on my Yamaha worked like a charm. It added some much needed spots to lash things down.

For the Honda, I also plan on making the bed able to accept a chain saw press like I had on the Viking. I don't want it sliding around in the back, & I don't want to tie it to the ROPS. Gotta be in the bed.

Has anyone modified the back in any way for this?

At this point, I’m thinking square aluminum tubing along the top of the rails.. we’ll see.

I will try and snap some pics this weekend when I am near my machine.
I added some tie downs around the box using factory Honda bolts, also added some flat webbing pieces to tying in my cooler, tool kit, spare parts kit and recovery stuff.
Everything came from McMaster-Carr.

I forgot all about this thread.... I finished my bed rails awhile back. They turned out awesome. I have unlimited tie down spots, a killer saw press, and the alumimum plates helped stiffen the inside of the bed too.

I like that. I bet it tightens the sides up too.

How does the cab side rail connect to the side rails? Or do they?

You could try some 80/20 aluminum extrusions. It is versatile mounting system. I used tie down loops from Amazon on my P1000-3 bed.
