Has anyone put Stage 3 Elkas on a 520?

Hi, new to the site. I hope I did not mess up, but I ordered stage 3 Elkas for my 22 Pioneer 520. Just ordered them 3 days ago. But now I'm seeing posts where people say the might not fit and have clearance issues on the rear by the muffler.

Has anyone successfully, or un successfully tried to put stage 3's on their 520?

I, and a few others run Walker Evans, which are essentially a stage 3 with similar remote reservoirs. I initially had concerns with clearance but they ended up fitting just fine. Obviously not a 100% comparison, but I'd say you'll be fine.

The only reason I went with Elka is it looks like they are dual rate springs. Not 100% sure if WE are or not? Thank you for the info.

Hi there and welcome from Michigan.

In the P500/P520 section of this forum, a member that goes by Aerolite did a bunch of measurement comparisons between the P500 and P520 back in 2021 and the basic chassis is exactly the same between the 2. He even measured all the shock mounting points of a P520 and contacted Elka directly and they verified that the Stage 1, 2 ,3, 4 & 5's would fit a P520.

As for your concern with the reservoirs being too close to the muffler - I did not see anything from Aerolite on that, but I'm sure if you try and PM him he can answer. Also as stated a call to Elka could verify it as well.

I've also read that the reason Elka does not list their shocks fitting the P520 is because they (Elka) have not been able to get ahold of a P520 and actually mount shocks to it to verify the fitment.

Ok, great new, shocks shipped from Elka in less than a week. Sb here on the 23rd of Feb

Ok, they came in. Mounted to the 520 perfectly. I had put 1" wheel spacers a well.

Handles amazing, all of the small choppy stuff is gone. It's not gonna hit any big jumps, but for a small recreational machine it really feels good. Also put powersteering.
