Good looking machine but I have to tell you that the guy you bought it from didn’t wear out the tires from riding 250 miles on pavement. I had the same issue with tire wear and I was riding on pavement. Still ride on pavement a great deal but without excessive tire wear. Turned out that the front end was severely out of alignment; 1” on one side and 2” on the other for a total of 3”. This also affected the handling to the point when I went around a curve it would lean into the curve and then violently sling me outward. Took it to an automotive front end alignment shop who reset the toe-in (I think) and gave me the numbers above. Cured my handling problems as well as tire wear. Sad to say, Honda delivers their machines to customers this way and then tries to blame it on customers for riding on pavement. There are other posts on this forum regarding this issue. Get to the alignment shop ASAP.

Thanks. I had read about the issue while I was in the process of buying it, this forum is full of resources. When I mounted the XTR’s, I set the toe slightly in, didn’t take much adjustment and camber looked good The previous owner drove it like he stole it as soon as he pulled out the driveway, hence the lack of tread on the tires. I have yet to have any issues with handling, and don’t see any uneven wear. I use it primarily on logging roads and in the woods on our hunting property, it’s a beast. I thought my 2003 450ES was the best machine I’d owned until this one.
