my machine is running around 5k rpm at around 40mph, is that normal? feels like it needs to shift to another high gear
Dozens of gears, but only six speeds. (Sorry, I'm a smartass!!!)around 600 miles, how many gears are in these machines?
Seriously though, yes... 5K rpm works out to about 41 mph on these machines. Redline is 8K at 66 mph.my machine is running around 5k rpm at around 40mph, is that normal? feels like it needs to shift to another high gear
no paddle shifter, just base modelDoes yours have paddle shifters? My favorite thing about the DCT and 6 speed is being able to 'paddle up' to keep the rpm down when I'm just cruising.
5K in top gear will net you about 41 mph.Does yours have paddle shifters? My favorite thing about the DCT and 6 speed is being able to 'paddle up' to keep the rpm down when I'm just cruising.
sounds like 5k is normal at that speed then, just sounds like it is wound tight at those RPM lol, im just not used to that yet and im guessing running down the highway at those RPM wont hurt anythingSeriously though, yes... 5K rpm works out to about 41 mph on these machines. Not even close to hurting anything. I run mine at 8K regularly and I have over 15,000 miles with no issues.sounds like 5k is normal at that speed then, just sounds like it is wound tight at those RPM lol, im just not used to that yet and im guessing running down the highway at those RPM wont hurt anything
Add some sort of sound proofing material to the vertical plastic area just forward of the engine. I stuffed some 1/2" neoprene (heavier material would probably be better) in there and while it didn't really quiet the engine noise much it must have absorbed some vibration in that panel.sounds like 5k is normal at that speed then, just sounds like it is wound tight at those RPM lol, im just not used to that yet and im guessing running down the highway at those RPM wont hurt anything
No way to ruffle feathers if I entirely agree with you, right? ✌️Dozens of gears, but only six speeds. (Sorry, I'm a smartass!!!)
Honda is good at making high revving engines. My little yellow Honda has a red line of 9K. It's a 2002 I've had since new, with only 30K miles. So I'm betting they can make an engine that'll turn 5K all day without breaking a sweat!Like everyone else has said 5k sounds right. Full confidence the rpms want hurt anything.
