I am considering purchasing a new 700-4 as it will fit perfectly into my storage space. the 1000-5 is too large for where I need to store it. My only concern is will the 700-4 have enough power for the steep hills near the Smoky Mountains. We will only use the 700-4 on paved roads in our neighborhood and on the county roads in the area but some of the roads near our cabin are pretty darn steep. I feel like it would do ok with just two of us on board but what happens when we have 4 people on board? (My wife and I and two 17 year old boys.) Any thoughts on whether or not the 700-4 can handle steep pave roads? Thanks in advance for any advice that you may have.

Assuming you're not intending to blast up them at 40, anything that would actually get paved or will be a "county road" will be no issue.

Just be aware that the 700 tops out at around 44 mph, so those roads might be a slow and boring affair.

I had a 700-4 and I was lucky to get 38 mph by myself on a hill.

I have a 700-2 and ride in the Tennessee mountains every chance I get you should have no problem . Mine climbs steep rocky stuff just fine. I will quit before it does and I run 2 sizes bigger than stock tires.
