Went to check on mine today. Still no Winch mount. I am tempted to get the Honda winch mount refunded, and just go with the KFI option. I mentioned the KFI winch mount to the Honda dealer (specifically how it is $250 less) and all he did was talk trash about aftermarket companies.
Looks like the Honda winch mount comes with wiring and switches though, so maybe that's why they can justify a $300 mount kit.

Anyone on here install the KFI mount yet? I would like to get opinions on the KFI setup before giving up on the Honda kit.

I have the KFI on order.
No way I'd buy the Honda kit, it has all the accessories that were already supplied with my Warn 4500S, KFI mount was $54.00 or so.

I have purchased a front brush guard/bumper so my wife can see the front corners of the 1000. The winch mount by Honda has the winch mount and includes a wiring harness with relay and option for 4 switches. Winch control , wiper, heater, dome light ,back up light and home made turn indicators, etc. I will mount my 2nd Bat with the positive connected to the winch relay as the original Batt will be. The Ground is a new connection to the frame and is secured with a wing nut. I can unground the Batt with ease and leaves me The original Batt to run radio etc. If the stock Batt goes dead I attach the 2nd Batt to ground and start the Honda. When usingthe winch it provides a more constant voltage. I think this is an inexpensive wiring method and should not hurt the warranty. Hope this helps.

This post is about the Honda OEM Winch Mount and Front Bumper!

Please see the KFI winch mount post here --> P1000 - KFI Winch Mount | The Honda Side by Side Club!

@ofrcboy
KFI only makes a winch mount at this time.

** I have cleaned up, edited, moved, and removed some KFI talk.
Analogize if you post got deleted or moved but it was getting confusing!

Yes Montana thank you . I will wait for aftermarket winch bumper as I like winch on top of bumper where I can see it and reach control EZ. My Big Red was very hard to turn control to free spool mounted behind stock front bumper.

Looking at the Honda winch plate for the 1000. It does not look easy to free spool. But it could be wrong.

Where did you find a 6-switch panel from honda? I have the only one I could find that was offered by honda and its a 4-switch panel. The wiring, relays, and switch panel was also nearly $300 on top of the winch mount that I bought for nearly $300, not $300 for it all together.

you are right on the pricing, I never said $300 for both. . I'm wrong on the # of switches. Four not Six. I stand corrected. I should have been more careful on my post.
Four switches.
One for the heater. Up high. Down low .
Three left. Up for the wipers/ down for the back up lights. etc.
Two left up for the........ down for the.......
One left Up for the.....Down for the.... I think the winch runs on it's own remote but not 100% Thanks for the correction.

Oh ok, I thought you meant $300 for all and I was about to get upset with my dealer lol. The switch panel would be a lot better with 6 though :)
