I will be going with (5) STI HD3 Machined & Black 14" wheels that have a 6"+1" offset mounting 28 x 10 x 14 Roctane XD tires. This will give me a matching spare to mount and can be run on any corner. I will keep the OEM tires and Wheels for backup.

This should get my width down to 61" so I can fit through 60" gates out West, those buying the 4+3 offset wheels are 66" wide in the front.

I Assume in order to get 61" thru 60" opening requires forcing the rubber tire to 'give'?

The 60" gates aren't quite as strict as the 50" gates. Most trails that were 60" or less now are 64" max the typical width. But where I measured the 61" is the very outer most bulge of the tires.
I have yet to encounter any 60" only trails so I cannot say with 100% certainty.

I know this is an old thread but I have a question also. Just put mud lite xl’s on my 1000-5 D. I am riding down a good old fashion dirt path to my bear stand. The trail is sloppy when wet but normal dirt when dry. The tire says 18psi max. I am traveling with the weight of the sxs and maybe 300 extra lbs including me and gear. Should I ride at 18 or go lower. I’m nervous about going lower as when I am at the stand, I am at extremely remote part of Alaska that does not allow me to just take the tire off and go reset the bead if it comes off. Any help would be appreciated.

Play with it a little. I’d probably start at 12 PSI or so then lower it a couple pounds, see how that works. Too soft, your rim may pinch your tire if you hit a rock or something. Too hard, you get a bouncy ride. I run 8 PSI in the front and 10 PSI in the back. I’m on stockers for the P7.

I'm with the majority and I run 13 - 14 pounds all the way around but I'm not riding heavily rock infested trails.
I'd start higher and try it. It's a lot easier to let a little out on the trail than it is to put some back in without a pump.

I ride aggressively and busted 3 front tires at 14 psi, so don't ride aggressive with stock tires and you'll be ok at 14 psi.

Most of our customers are comfortable with 10psi front and 14psi rear. But the majority of our clients are farmers looking for a smooth ride.

I ride aggressively, run 8 PSI front and rear. I have accessories tires and wheels, no more flats or busted tires.

I was wondering what tire pressure people are running on their 1000-5 deluxe? I'm not rock climbing or anything like that - mostly dirt roads and some trails.
Thanks
Tim

Added a poll. Vote twice. Front and Rear!

Honda recommends:
Front 13 psi
Rear 14 psi

not to be smart but just go with what Honda states in their manual...

I was running g real low on my 30" SuperAtv Intimidators (4-5 psi for sand riding) but just recently put them up to 12 psi front and rear. It rides pretty nice around the property and have not yet tried them out in the mud, will report back when I do.

Well.....on the first ride (other than riding it around the house slowly) I hit a small stump (2" in diameter and about 4" high, just above the waterline of a puddle, at very slow speed and bent the tie rod bad. Luckily, I was able to bend it back to at least get back to main gate 8 miles away. With Portals and wide tires, I'm going to stay at about 5 psi.

28 inch on 15 in wheels 8 ply radial MOTOCLAWS,

Does anyone have these, if so what pressure do you run to give me a baseline and are they ok or did I go wrong?

It depends on how a tire is constructed on the air pressure you run. I run Kenda Bear claw HTRs. They have a maximum air pressure rating of 7 psi. I run them at that. It gives a great ride and the tire wears flat at that pressure. On past SXS I also ran these and tried higher pressures but that lead to uneven wear but better MPG.

I run 13-14 psi with the terribites as per Honda . at this PSI they will tear up lawn, spin on steep gravel roads, pretty much can spin tires on command on most surfaces except pavement. I keep them aired up though, cuz I like to take this thing on the road for short trips. I'm to lazy to change air PSI .
Now if I really wanted to climb the steep A$$ hill behind my house, I would air down. In reality though probably not. When in doubt wind it out. I like it when all 4's are spinning, and the RPM's are banging at the 8k mark. :)>View attachment 61165
what did you end up for milage on the terrabites?

Fuel mileage, or miles on the tires?
I have no idea on fuel mpg, and I've got 1800 miles on them, and 2 winters so far and there probably 1/2 worn or less. I probably run 15 miles a week on the paved roads.
When these wear out I will probably but them again. I like them a whole lot. There also the stock 12" wheels. I see no need in my case for running larger tires and wheels. This set up is darn near perfect for me.

I'm running a set of Quadboss DOT tires on my 1000/5 and I drive 80% of the time on the street. I run these @ 20# and they have been incredibly good both on and off the road. But, when off road I get into some pretty knarly places. I'm too lazy to adj. air pressure for changing conditions so 20# is what I always run. Does anyone else run this tire? I'd like to know what pressure you're running.

I never keep tire pressures the same. Depends on the terrain, even in my pickups.

As far as the Pioneer, with the factory flathorns, I'll fill them to 20 PSI if it's gonna be on the street, then I'll run them down to 12 psi for relatively smooth dirt roads and then go 8-10 for rougher stuff.

If I was to "set it and forget it" I'd probably go somewhere around 12-14 pounds front and rear.

Mine came from the dealer with 20PSI in all 4, despite them advising me to run 10 PSI in them when I bought it....

My 2020 P1K3 EPS has 30" 8 ply Mastodons on 14x8 rims, same size all around. I run 8-9 PSI front and rear. Rides smooth and tires don't squat. The front tires rub slightly on hard turns. It's not lifted.
Since the recommended pressure is for 27" 6 ply tires, I don't think it has much relevance to 30" 8 ply tires.
