I bought a Pioneer 500 during the week and put the wheels and tires I had on a Rancher on the Pioneer. The wheels are steel ITP wheels with 27" Outlaw tires. I ride trails with a lot of roots and today was the first time taking my new a pioneer out. Well the Outlaws beat my butt to death. There were a lot of other side by sides riding today and I noticed the majority of them were running Bighorns. I spoke to one of the drivers and he told me the Bighorn was by far a soft radial tire and he was pleased with it. Has anyone else have any suggestions

I have been running Bighorns on my Rancher for a long time and have nothing but good things to say about them. When I bought my Pioneer 500 the dealer recommended Sedona Ripsaw radials. He gave me a great deal on a set and that's what I went with. Big mistake as far as I'm concerned. Horrible ride compared to the Bighorns and less traction in the roots and rocks. I'll be going back to Bighorns when these wear out. Maybe before.

bighorns are great tires but pitbull rockers or growlers are superior in every way they are the best tires i ever owned and i have ran almost all brands i liked the 589s but i think radials are way better in performance bad part about 589s is they are no longer made so if you damaged one beyond repair you would be out of luck unless there is stock somewhere

The BlackStones are a 4ply bias ply tire... Going to ride softer than a 6ply radial... They also have less aggressive tread, not as good of traction. Flip side a 6ply radial is a LOT tougher than a 4ply bias....Always a trade off somewhere.

Those pitbull tires are very heavy. Almost 10 lbs a tire more for a comparable size compared to bighorns. With something as low power as the 500, weight is something you should consider. I would consider STI Roctane's and ITP BajaCross. Both are heavy compared to the Bighorns but are 8 ply radials and are still about 5 lbs a tire lighter than Pitbulls. But if weight isn't something you are worried about Pitbull does make really good tires.

My factory tires from Honda ride rough as hell. What is the deal? I am a former ATV rider so side by sides are new to me. This p500 rides very rough! Any suggestions?

They were at 12psi from the dealer. I will put them down to 8 and see how it goes tomorrow.

The P5 may even be able to handle less. I would recommend playing around with pressures until u find what feels right.

Probably can run less, check with tire manufacturer my GBCs say no more than 7psi and that is with a full load but they are 6ply with a 550lb rating each.
