@83501Bill Welcome to the club there is a few different roof mount solutions that mount onto the ROPS overhead that seems to be the best way.

I've since added two of these: http://www.cabelas.com/product/CABELAS-DOUBLE-GUN-CASE/1755643.uts?productVariantId=3781522&searchPath=/browse.cmd?categoryId=734095080&CQ_refinements=%257Ebrand%253DCabela%2527s&CQ_pagesize=80&CQ_search=ute%2520gun%2520case&CQ_st=b

Each one carries two full size rifles. They attach real nicely to the roll cage between my storage box and the cage. The roof rack works ok, but only for short rifles. We will carry 4 rifles for p-dogs. The box and one case will come off for elk hunts.

I looked at the overhead racks but decided to use a Kolpin gun boot attached to the rear of the roll cage or strapped on top if I'm going through really narrow trails in the timber. I like the extra protection from dust, mud, and other crap that the Kolpin boot adds.

Attaches to roll bars. I've had it for 2 years now and love it. Holds two rifles with big scopes AR's and all. Good many 700 owners use it but i'm not sure how good it works on the 500.
Cabela's 52" TAC Gear UTV Double Gun Case : Cabela's

The Cabela's case fits well. All I need now is to load up my two shooting benches onto the two wood blocks on top of the box and I'm ready for p-dogs :D

62 grains of Black (FF) powder, patch, ball... Loaded capped ready to rip.... In Smokeless, 1894 SS 44 mag Marlin, 9 in the tube, one chambered on my lap....

Ok seriously, I have a Kopelin hard case for the M70 .270 that I strap on the rear rack, with other soft bags. I do carry the 1894 on my lap or just put it muzzle to the floor resting on the seat, very easy to deploy as you step out.

Cheers,

jrc

I really like the Koplin cases, but there's not pretty way to carry 4 rifles well with them.

I just bungee mine on the rack and 4 would be a pain for sure. I like your case system and how you have your gear set up looks great.

We'll know in couple weeks after the first p-dog shoot with the new rig. :)

I made this up with Kolpin gun racks off of my old honda atv. I just had to get some U-bolts. Attached it to the frame above my head and the passengers head. Works slick. My 12 guage with 28 in barrel and turkey choke fit perfectly. It barely sticks out and sits inside under the roof.
