Has anyone mounted one of these floor mount Kolpin gun racks into a 1000-3? I do a lot of spotlighting for coons and coyotes out of my SXS so I like to have my guns as readily available as I safely can. This seems to be the way to go. Any insights would be appreciated. I searched on here and only found a couple guys that had installed on a P700, didn’t know if the floor is the same on those.

I had one in a 08 Polaris Ranger.

It’s ok, but you guns are going to get rattled pretty good.

Sucks if you are a little kid riding in the middle.

I yanked mine when my nephew ate the top the mount when going over a big bump.

I use a double gun canvas bag that hangs on the back head rest now.

I would recommend an overhead mount instead of mounting to the floor. Like this, just have to measure distance between rollcage crossmember front to back and get correct size, 4 different models to adjust to your specific needs.

Big sky overhead gunrack from Cabelas is what I’m running... if you really want to run and gun a super atv flip windshield makes it nice. Lol

Don't know where you guys live and ride, but it gets pretty dusty on the trails here in the summer. I would not recommend anything where your rifle is exposed. They sell gun bags on amazon that can be strapped to the cage. Just my two cents.

I am up in South Dakota, and 90% of the time I will have a gun with me, it will be in the winter, so not so much a concern for dust, maybe snow dust. I don’t plan on taking any guns with me if I would ever do any trail riding, but this is mainly a farm/work vehicle. And I do like that the whole gun rack comes out with just two bolts.

When I was shooting 3 gun I used one of these covers to help keep the dust off gun when it was in the rack

AR Slicker

The link is for an AR but they make other sizes - part of the bottom is still exposed but faster off than a gun sock

Edited to add better link and pics of shooting with cover on

Well I went ahead and got myself the Kolpin gun rack and mounted it up today. The center floorboard is all plastic, so I took it off and cut out the plastic webbing behind it and put a piece of scrap plate I had laying around behind thenfloorbord to brace it. Not quite as strong as I want it to be, my plan is to put a larger piece of diamond plate on top of the floor board to strengthen it up. Without a gun in it, it sits solid, and with a gun in it, it wiggles a little bit, but not bad. But when I took it off road into some rough riding with a gun in it, it did sway more than I wanted it to, hence the need for the second plate.

I have one of these as well. I also have the audioformz roof witch is way diffrent than stock style roofs. had to do a floor mount. I take it out during riding season. leave the bottom plate installed. put back in during deer season. just need to tilt it some. my sons gun hits the windshield enough to scratch it. really like the mount. the racknned to wiggle some so the guns dont take a beating. 3d7662988120eff402611baedde79e0a

I did the same thing with the floor plate but what made it really solid is a bracket made from angle iron and bolted to the seat. Very solid now and very fast to have gun on the ready. Like it a lot. But not very stable without the bracket.
