I have an 2016 1000-5 camo deluxe with less than 300 miles and 50 hours on the machine.
Mostly joy riding around the property and light yard work. Only been on 3 big 90+ mile rides.
Just the other day I had people on a ride showing them the place when the clutch’s wasn’t engaging as they normally do. I dropped them off and went by myself as most P1000-5’s people know how throaty the throttle is I found that I was a quarter into the throttle before it would move. And when I opened it up coming up this slight hill it would slip between gears just alittle enough to be noticed.
So off to the Honda shop for them to take a look at. I’m getting the clutch cover and any other warranty work done as well.
I will keep this post updated for what they say

Anyone else having issues with clutch’s

I dont think the issue is as widespread as people make it seem. You only ever hear the bad news. Mine never had issues for 1500 miles but I did the update. You shouldn't have any trouble after the update.

I have noticed that my 2016 P3 has been shifting weird, more clunky'er for lack of a better word. I am about tpo make the appointment to have the recall and update done to mine in the next couple days. I have very little time on my SxS and have just added some Terrabites radials for on road driving.

With the new street treads makes a world of difference in how it feels allot more planted.

Both times my clutches went out it would shudder from full stop, the second time I took it in service mgr got in and drove it 10 feet, he said yep clutches are bad, after the up date I'm one happy camper!

Hey back again with the update sorry so late
So they said that the clutch’s we’re toast and cabin comfort completed as well as the exhaust plate recall done.

So I did get the clutch cover update and when they told me about the clutch’s when I went to pick it up I asked where is the old clutch’s at that we’re replaced? He went back and got em for me to look at and I haven’t seen too many clutch’s before but I did notice that the wear plates on the first couple were completely GONE. The few remaining were wore down very bad. I couldn’t believe it that with so little miles on this thing and I do baby this SXS1000M5D from time to time but wow wouldn’t think those wear plates were going to be that bad
But figure I let everybody know my story here.

If your sxs is shifting different take it to shop before something else would go bad on it

Yes you should have got the new clutch cover update done when they replaced your clutchs there is a thread on here that shows how the new clutch cover looks so you can check it but I would say yes you got the new clutch cover

I would think so. After they replaced my clutches for the second time, they did the new clutch cover, and I have put more miles on the third set than the first two sets combined and it still doesn't chatter on take off, I'm one happy camper!
