Looking to upgrade my stock tires don’t want to lose power looking for long lasting all terrain 8 or 10 ply mostly ride in hard pack ground and rocks. But will do some Forrest trails in Colorado also.

Also has any ever measured how much ground clearance is gained from 30” tires.

Thanks in Advance.

you are going to get 200 answers. Just keep in mind that the 30" tires don't run same diameter. The Maxxis Carnivore run a little large (like 30.5") where the Konoti Terra Masters run slightly small (31" is same as Carnivore 30") I am happy with the Tera Masters for similar riding. Also the Carnivores seem to wear a little quicker. The ITP Ultracross I had earlier were heavy and ran out of round bad. Just my experience

So you’re saying all tires have different overall size. Looking for a tire that is about 36lbs. Was thinking GBC Mongrels true to size and not too heavy and 10 ply. But how heavy are the canivores.

Although I've never tried Carnivores, I 'read on the internet' they wear pretty quickly and don't have the toughest sidewalls. Long wearing is fairly important to me also. Terrabites are rumored to have wildly varying bead widths compromising bead lock sealing, so a deal breaker for me but long wearing. I was about to buy the Mongrels but they were back ordered until Sept or Oct, I couldn't wait that long so I ordered a set of 30" STI Chicane RX tires that are waiting to be installed right now.

No experience with them on my Talon but I do have those tires on my Kawasaki Teryx 800. They are very tough tires with stiff sidewalls. They have worked well for me in rocky terrain. I'm not sure what they weigh in a 30" size.

Based on my calculations and that stock F wheel is 14.2 & R 14.6. Would put front wheel set at 12 lbs heavier and rear at 5 lbs heavier. That is based on stock fronts and rears tire/wheel weight of 38F/45R. So my machine should be ok don’t think I will lose any if much power or Top Speed.

I had the 31" and they weighed 39.5lb and measured 30.5". On trails they were fine, but on pavement, they shook like crazy (took 14oz to try to balance). It took 5 miles for them to round back up after being parked over night.

Have you considered truck tires in the 6 ply range? Amazon says these are a little over 35lbs

Ebay has them cheap but it is hard to find any real specs on them

Nice and no did not know that General made UTV tires. Great price but thinking 9.5 might be a tad small for a square set up. Has anyone heard of Rage Mohave tires Discount Tire sells them.

Look at the ITP terra claw they look better than the terra hooks do. Plus they are made in the USA.

Wow they are on sale for $ 139.00 but was looking for 30”. Should I just bite the bullet and get 32”. Just afraid it will make my UTV less fun then I will need to do a Tune to compensate for the tire size. Wow $ 559 shipped.
