Looking to replace my stock tires with radials. will be sticking with stock rims and tire size. I might step up to 26-9-12 and 26-11-12 if I go with the Duros. I ride 95% of the time on township gravel roads that range from lose muddy gravel to tar and chip. I do get into the wood now and then esp. for deer season firewood etc. Looking for a smoother ride than the stock tires. What ever I get should perform well in the snow. What do you guys think of these two tires. 26's in the duros are about $411 and 25's in the BH are about $490? I also looked at the Carlisle all trails but wonder how they do in the snow? Input appreciated.

A lot of guys like the Kenda bearclaw radials, might be worth a look. Not sure about snow performance. I always heard more of an "all terrain" style tire does better in the snow

Bighorn is a great snow tire. I've got the 2.0 in 26" can't ask for much more however I'd go original over the 2.0 next time. They are smooth on pavement and wear well.

I though the BearClaw HTR tire was strictly an ATV tire?

They are great on the pioneer. I've never heard anyone say they were bad in the snow. They keep you on top Alot better than say mud tires. I had original bear claws on my polaris magnum last winter and could barely move in 2wd. But that's the original not the new radial ones

Every forum has this question. Bighorn is always a suggestion as you want a tire that floats not dig, I have them I've had many tires, these aRe hands down the best I've had in snow. Itp 589s the worst.

What kind of snow? In south Wi. We get Alot of heavy wet snow that usually has ice under it. And man with aggressive mud tires I'd dig down and get stuck especially drifts. You ever see the tires they use on the old army snow trucks or the ones they use on those Toyota expedition trucks? Their fat, soft on almost 0 tread.
