P1000 Midland Micromobile

So I just won a midland micromobile unit tonight. Does anyone have one of these in there unit? If so where did you mount it? Also did you just magnetically attach the antenna parallel to the ground on the center roll cage bar or elsewhere? Also should I hook this up through my fuse box? Thanks in advance!

These are not my pictures but this is how I did mine. I caulked around the rivets and the edges. Then covered it with flex seal. Nobody ever sees the top anyways.

Hell that was the wrong picture oh well.
I bought a honda quick clamp and was gonna mount it like this. I was gonna put it on the roll cage in front of the driver but ended up going throughthe roof. Everything I have done to my machine I have stole from someone else lol.

Just keep it from getting soaked ... they are not waterproof.

The antenna that comes with some of these radios is not that great. There are a whole host of antenna options available from phantom (low profile) to ~ 3 foot whips.
