P1000 My New P1K5 in the shop electrical issues.

My Pioneer is having electrical issues. The 2wd, turf, 4wd and 4wd lock icons are not indicating properly. She enters each drive mode when selected but the icons on the dash just show turf mode only. Returned to dealer only the next day after initial pickup. The dealer is going back and forth with Honda trying to find the Gremlin. The swapped the pod and the ecu from known good machines with negative results. All the grounds are good and tested. What do you guys think.

I adjusted the turf mode selector but it still didn't fix the problem. Keep me posted on what you find out so I can inform my dealer

I will I’ll. Get a printout of the repairs when made and I’ll forward it to you. Did you bring it back to the dealer like I did? My machine was transferred from Rusty Palmer, was yours?

I have yet to take it to my dealer. Im not sure where mine come from

Update, They are replacing the wiring harness, Honda suspects this is the issue.

Mine has been like that since it was new. Got sick of bringing it back to the dealer. Hope they can get yours figured out!

Edit to add: actually when it was new, it worked properly. When it went in for the first service I had them adjust the shift cables because it was sticking in 2wd when I’d try to go to turf mode. Ever since then it’s shifted modes properly, but gives no indication on the dash.

I’ve poked around at it myself a few times and tried playing with adjustments to no avail.

Maybe I'll bust out the manual and do some checks on the electrical indicator switches. Ecu's and wireing harnesses seem a bit much

I’m going to try to get a extended warranty, extra 48 months heavily discounted or free. I’m out of service for six days now.

Did you just buy it? Hondas come with a 1 yr warranty. I bought a demo model so I get 2 yrs

So this unit was brand new if it were me I would ask for another machine instead of asking for an extended warranty since it’s just been 5 days since you bought it was it a 2019 model

I'm assuming they checked all the sensors in the diffs as well. I've seen one that had a misaligned piece in the diff and wasnt triggering the sensor l.

I told them I want a new machine. No was the answer, Honda said they said they have reasonable time to fix machine. What is reasonable I asked, he wouldn’t answer.

16 days is nothing. My dealer is so inept, it took them 3 weeks to do the clutch update properly.

So do they think the rear differential is the problem and it sucks that every time you ride it’s going to be in the back of your mind is this piece of s*** going to mess up again sorry you are have these problems
