Hey guys, I just sold my p500 and picked up a new 700-4. I’m looking forward to building it and using the resources here on the 700 forum while still keeping up with the guys on the 500 forum. So far I’ve put on a roof and a windshield, (my birthday present from my wife). :D Here’s a couple pics of the old and the new.

Congrats!

Compare and contrast?
Well that’s not that hard, two different machines with different applications. So the biggest difference is size, I already miss whipping the p5 through tight trails and the paddle shifters. The seats in the p5 kept you lower to the ground and had an overall different feel but that’s where it ends. The 700 is HUGE!!! I am impressed with how smooth the transmission shifts, the ride is day and night different and being able to haul the whole family is great. Still being easy on the skinny pedal since I’m only up to 8 miles but it feels like she’s got some power. I have to say it’s quite the machine.

LOL...just wanted to make sure i wasn't crazy.
You'll learn to love that size and the ride and capability that comes with it. I used to complain that the 700 didn't ride that great...but now having a 500, i will never do that again. I honestly think a 500 is quieter (as far as cab noise), but i think that full roof over the cargo bed causes a disadvantage in that regard on the 4 seater ( or to put it another way, a 700-2 might be as quiet or quieter).

I agree, the suspension accompanied with short wheel base and width makes the p5 a very rigid machine. To me the engine is quiet on the 700 compared to the p5 but the rattling of the doors and seats in the rear do produce some significant noise.

These 700's are great machines !! I think the ride and handling are very good for a utility s x s. The engine is quiet and very torquey. I plow with mine and it handles the deep Vt snow storms with no trouble. The next big improvement I want to make to mine is power steering. Have fun with your new toy !!

I agree, the only thing I can complain about is the tranny noise, it sounds like she has some driveline slack to me. A great machine overall.

We test drove a couple 500’s before purchasing a 700. One was stock and the other a trade in with bigger wheels and tires. I actually liked them both quite a bit, but the 700-4 having a bed for the dog/flip up seats for kids and friends sold us.
Enjoy
