Welcome from WNC, I am still a newb as well, but have learned a lot from this site and some members that I have meet, I too was wanting to do the spare tire thing but chose to go the plugs, sidewall slug, compressor route instead. It’s more a weight issue than space for me, worst case I do like the late great Charlie Daniels and “limp on down the shoulder on the rim.” Good luck with your new ride... ( oh yeah, that part about not wanting to do many upgrades... 🤣🤣🤣🤣let me know how that goes.)

I built my own extender recently and used a dragon fire spare tire mount. Works great.

I use a milk crate to carry my tools, plugs, etc.
