My wife & I enjoy hiking just north east of you in the Char Falls-Moose lake area.
We have a place just outside Sagle.
Beautiful country!!
My father in law (who bought his 1000-5 the same time we did) was just at Char Falls in his last week. We’re wanting to run up to Porcupine Lake and check out the fire damage. Maybe we’ll run into you one of these days....
What’s been up with you lately???Hello, I'm OldToby
Having bounced over the logging roads of north Idaho for 45+ years in a variety of vehicles (including a ‘62 Ranchero, ‘82 Ford Escort, various horses [horses count as vehicles], ‘64 Datsun pickup and 1960 Chevy Biscayne), I’ve finally found the ideal mountain-crawler in my 2018 1000-5 Deluxe. I’m very much looking forward to getting wet, cold and filthy while spending wads of cash on peripheral and unnecessary stuff like windshields, heaters, roofs and winches. I know I’ll benefit a bunch from the experience and “wisdom”of Forum members; maybe one of you’ll pull me out of a hole sometime, or vice versa.
Here is a little info about me to begin with!
Honda SxS ownership : Yes
I have owned, or currently own the following: UTV
My off-road experience level is: Trail Rider
My favorite place to ride is: Selkirk and Cabinet Mountains in north Idaho

Well played! I could totally see that moored at Bayview. Be kinda cool to live off of tgere
Gotcha. We went up there one time with Steve that owns the treehouse up past Whiskey Rock. Rode out in his buddy’s boat up to the dam played in the current then cruised over to Hope to eat. It is really beautiful there. Food was great at that restaurant. Some of the lake houses up there are incredible!View attachment 132732 We’ve moored at Hope for 20 years. Hard to beat the views.
Been to Clark Fork from Bunko side. Sounds good we will make the trip this year. I’ll bug ya ahead of time and see what you’re doing. I’m sure @100Acre will be down tooI don’t know about south of Athol, but if you can get to Bunco Road (right there at Silverwood) you can go around the east side of the lake on Forest Service roads. Very cool trip. Once in Clark Fork you can jump on Spring Creek Road and take that to Hope. Although I’ve heard rumors that Viggo has shut down Spring Creek Road.....
Sounds like someone is going to meet Gramps Pacific Northwest Legend! Sorry @OldToby there can only be one GPNWL and CP already earned the title regardless of his repeated denials. I've never met the PNW Legend myself, but if I ever do I figure I will have to give him a peace offering of Coors Light.Been to Clark Fork from Bunko side.
