P1000 OK Ok, new addition questions....

Ok Folks, there are a couple of other items I am considering but first questions;

1. The easy one, are there any aftermarket harnesses available for the P1 3? I'd like to be able to strap in tightly on occasion.
2. Considering taller tires but would like to mount them on the LE rims, but before I decide on tires my question is how do taller tires affect the ride of the machine. Do they have a negative affect on gearing to where you lose some bottom end torque? do they emphasize weaker components in the drive train and prompt early failure?

This machine is primarily for the wife to use on the ranch but we are planning on trail rides and will be out this coming month for a few of them.

You will need to get a harness bar. I don't remember who makes them but quite a few guys on here have added the bar. Then just about any harness will work.

For tires I'd suggest a 28" tire. Thats the max you can run on stock suspension. It will give you a better approach angle and ride a little smoother without having adverse affects on gearing or causing premature failure of other components.

Brick City Fab makes a nice harness bar. I really likes the dragonfire Evo harnesses in my Pioneer but I've since switched to retractable Can-am X3 harnesses and they are awesome.

The LE came with 27", would the 1/2" potential height be worth the cost, probably not for a generic tire. if go for a dedicated mud tire then 28's would be on order.

I suspect your tires dont measure a full 27". But, based on your initial post of wife using on the ranch, I'd say run what you have for a while and then decide. Sometimes it's good to decide what you dont like about what you have before deciding what you need.

Good advice, on another note I did order a harness bar today and decided I would just use a set of outdated harnesses I have. Won't be needing to pass any tech inspections so they should be
fine.

true that,i'm still running my stock bighorns.i keep hearing how they're junk but i've put 1500 kilometers of hard riding on them and still not even a single plug in them and they're wearing really well,no chunking or splits.they're a surprisingly good all purpose tire.
